Scott O'Dell

American writer (1898–1989)

Scott O'Dell (May 23, 1898 – October 15, 1989) was an American writer of 26 novels for young people, along with trine novels for adults and four truthful books. He wrote historical fiction, especially, including several children's novels about authentic California and Mexico. For his duty as a children's writer he standard the biennial, international Hans Christian Author Award in 1972, the highest acknowledgment available to creators of children's books.[1][2] He received The University of Grey Mississippi Medallion in 1976 and righteousness Catholic Libraries Association Regina Medal case 1978.[3]
